General Application

We're not actively hiring right now. But Shahmat is growing, and when we do bring people on board, we want to hear from the kind of person who looks at something and thinks ‘I know how to make this better’ — then actually does it.

What You'd Do

Honestly? Whatever you think will improve the platform. We don't have a rigid job description because we're not looking for someone to fill a predefined box. We're looking for someone who sees what Shahmat is, understands what it could be, and has the skills and drive to close that gap. Whether that's writing code, designing interfaces, analysing data, creating content, building community, or something we haven't thought of yet — if you can make a genuine contribution, we want to know about it.

Who We're Looking For

Whether your background is in software engineering, data analytics, design, marketing, customer support, or something else entirely — if you have an idea for how to make Shahmat better, we'd like to hear from you. We care more about what you can do than what your CV says you should be able to do.

What matters to us: a sense of responsibility, the motivation to actually build and create things, critical thinking, the ability to work independently without being micromanaged, and — above all — genuine passion for the craft. We'd rather work with someone who has rough edges but real vision than someone who ticks every box but watches the clock.

How to Apply

There's no application form. No Easy Apply button. If you're interested, send an email to recruitment@shahmat.io with the subject line: ‘I Can Improve This Website’.

Include your CV or a project portfolio (or both), and a short note telling us what you'd bring to the team and why this project interests you. Keep it real — we read every one.

Shahmat is based in Colchester, UK. We work remotely.
